Buschman/Traister Wedding Weekend

We headed to Austin early Friday morning. We arrived at the hotel at 4pm and hustled to get ready for the 5pm rehearsal. The rehearsal was quick and fun. We then headed to a local hotel for the rehearsal dinner. The dinner went pretty well. During the toasts, I took the kids out to ride the glass elevator. The kids really enjoyed riding up and down the 17 floor elevator. After returning back to our hotel, the kids and Tim went for a quick swim. They enjoyed the pool but really liked the hot tub (I know, my germ-o-phobe self let my kids get into a public hot tub).
Saturday morning we headed to Pflugerville to watch my nephew and then niece play soccer. We got to see Aaron score the game winning goal! It was really cold and windy but we had fun.
After the games, we grabbed a quick lunch with the Whitmire gang and headed back to the hotel. I have to add a special thanks to my brother's mother-in-law for watching Abby during Ashley's game. The cold was just a little too much for Abby (which you will notice becomes a recurring theme).
The kids all fell asleep in the car, so I sat with them and let them nap. After everyone woke-up, we got ready and headed to the wedding. The twins posed for pictures before the ceremony.

Zach and Calyn did a great job during the ceremony. They walked in and stood on the stage throughout the ceremony. Zach refused to walk back down the aisle at the end but that was okay. Abby created a little bit of a scene so she had to be taken out of the ceremony. The wedding was absolutely beautiful. Tim and Janelle exchanged the most amazing vows and presented the Gospel. It is always exciting to me to see young people who are so bold for Jesus.
The reception was at a local country club. The kids (even Abby) loved dancing and actually cried when we had to leave at 11pm!

Sunday we ate breakfast at Kerbey Lane. At least Tim and the twins ate at Kerbey Lane, I ate in the car with a screaming Abby. Fortunately, she fell asleep as soon as we got on the road for home. We stopped in Abilene to visit my friend from college. Heather and her two boys met us at the zoo. Please pray for Heather as she is five weeks away from having her third child. Her husband, Will, works out of town. Heather works full time as a nurse and is pretty tired. It was great to see her and her boys.
Overall our weekend was fantastic! We loved being apart of Janelle's wedding. She is an amazing young woman, and we were honored to be apart of her special day. It seems like yesterday she was passing out programs at mine and Tim's wedding! Thanks also to Janis for all of her love and support.

Guess who is engaged?

My dad! I can't say that I am surprised but I was not expecting it quite so soon. He is marrying a woman named Lou that I have known since I was little. I remember her as being a fun mom that always made us special food whenever I spent the night with her girls. I have not yet processed that I will have a step-mom or step-sisters, but I hope that we can all become good friends again.

Spring Break Fun

The kids and I have been blessed by Tim taking time off from work this week. He told the kids that we would try to do something fun everyday. Here is an update of our week thus far:

Monday
We went to the Science Spectrum to see the elephants and animals from Kenny's Korral. Both Zach and Calyn rode an elephant and fed the goats (which is a very big deal for Zach!). Abby was not a fan of getting too close but enjoyed seeing the animals from a safe distance. We also went inside the museum and played. Thanks grandma for our membership!
Next we headed to Chick-fil-a for lunch followed by home for naps.
After nap we went to the park where we played and exercised. After all the exercise, we went to Dairy Queen for ice cream.

Tuesday
The kids and I investigated the new cupcake shop on 34th street. After naps, Tim took Zach and Calyn bowling. They bowled three games while Abby and I went to Target. We all met at Market Street for dinner and then did some grocery shopping.

Wednesday
We headed to amarillo to visit the Gomez family. We ate lunch at an ice cream shop called Malcom's. The kids got ice cream cones that were turned upside down and decorated like clowns. We then visited the zoo. I think Abby enjoyed the animals the most. The older kids enjoyed running wild and playing with each other. Zach was really disappointed the zoo did not have zebras. I think he likes zebras because they start with Z.
After the zoo, we visited another park and the kids really played hard. After the park, we visited a while at the Gomez's house. It was so nice to see and hold baby Eleri. She is now 7 weeks old. Amazing! Mali and the twins did not have a single fight, which is almost unbelievable. It really made for an enjoyable visit.
On the way back to Lubbock, we stopped in Tulia and had dinner with my aunt and cousin. We also had a good visit with them.
We got home about 9:30pm. Everyone showered and then met in my room to watch 2 recorded episodes of what the kids call, 'the family with all the kids.' The twins got into bed about 10:30 and were asleep by 10:32. Another almost unbelievable event!

Thursday
We spent the morning running errands. We mainly got Zach and Calyn cleats and pants for t-ball and Calyn some new running shoes.
This evening we had their second t-ball practice. The weather was great and everyone had fun.

That is it so far. I hope everyone else is enjoying their Spring Break or at least maybe Spring.

180 is...

the heartrate of the new baby.

Is anyone thinking what I am thinking?

Although all tiny babies have high heart rates, a heart rate of 180 is usually an indicator of a girl. Another Dallas girl baby? What are we going to do? Poor Tim and Zach. Forced to endure a neverending estrogen supply.

Side note: My doctor changed my due date to September 24, so I am now officially 11 weeks. Praise God!
